Ghada Mohamed Amer, PhD in Electrical Power Engineering Egyptian National is Head of Electrical Engineering Department in Faculty of Engineering at Benha University and Vice President of the Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF) which is a leading regional and international Organization based in Sharjah- United Arab Emirates, that was established in 2000 G.C by 425 pioneer Arab scientists and engineers. It is now the broadest pan Arab organization that deals with science and technology, connecting about 15,000 individuals & 400 entities. Dr. Amer strongly had a high regard for “escalation of Science & Technology and innovation in the Arab World" longtime before she joined ASTF, for that she was the editor of two international journals on her field of specialty. She received "Best Research Paper Award" CATAEE Conference, Jordan, 2004. She was also an active in the main committee of the Egyptian Engineering Syndicate. Also, a member of Third World Organization for Women in Science TWOWS 2008 and received the "Best Mother Model Award" for the Benha University 2009. She became the S&T Advisor (2008-2009) in her university. After she joined ASTF family in 2005 she was appointed as Women programs Manager in Cairo, Egypt office, having successfully managed the programs, she rapidly achieved much for the foundation, and she was later appointed as the Manager of Scientific Research Programs in the H.Q. office Sharjah, UAE. Following that she was appointed in 2012 as Vice President and active board member of Arab Science & Technology Foundations. She strongly shares the dream of empowering, encouraging & supporting Scientific R&D by shaping the way for Arab intellectuals to develop and use their resources by transforming or changing “Innovations to Inventions & Inventors to Entrepreneurs”. Dr. Ghada M. Amer (pioneer Arab woman in Science & Technology) serves the ongoing development of S&T, and building knowledgeable society in the Arab region, for that, she created suitable environment for Arab woman to take her part in Science & Technology, Business Plan Competition (TBPC) is one apparatus that could be taken as example, that created for 8 successful years, a unique & great opportunity for the entrepreneurs to develop their startup ideas, and convert it to real job opportunities, that echoed optimistically in the Arab World & network for research, development and innovation (AWARD), that Women Arab inventors and entrepreneurs was part of its huge success. Dr. Amer, strongly believes that supporting S&T & growth of innovations in the Arab World is a long term journey and won't attain its strategic goals without Collaboration & Coordination of both governmental & non-governmental institutions of Arab world, In order to promote & develop the science and technology policies and increase the competitiveness of the economy through innovation. She outspokenly quoted, “we have seen rewards of our efforts so far and look forward to doing more with the hard works & dedications of ASTF indispensable asset, who's its employees, so to help create a better future for the Arab World.”
